Jewellery Care Guide

With the right care, your diamond jewellery will remain brilliant for generations. Here is everything you need to know.

Cleaning at Home

  1. 1Fill a small bowl with warm (not hot) water and a few drops of mild dish soap.
  2. 2Soak the piece for 20–30 minutes to loosen any buildup.
  3. 3Gently scrub with a soft-bristle toothbrush — focus on the underside of the setting where dirt accumulates.
  4. 4Rinse thoroughly under clean running water.
  5. 5Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Allow to air dry completely before storing.

What to Avoid

  1. 1Chlorine bleach and harsh chemicals — they can discolour gold alloys and damage prong settings.
  2. 2Ultrasonic cleaners for pieces with fracture-filled diamonds, emeralds, or soft stones.
  3. 3Wearing your ring in the pool, sea, or spa — chlorine and salt water are harmful.
  4. 4Putting on lotions, perfume, or hairspray while wearing your jewellery.
  5. 5Stacking rings made of different metals — harder metals scratch softer ones.

Storage

  1. 1Store pieces individually in soft pouches or the original box to prevent scratching.
  2. 2Keep jewellery away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  3. 3Store necklaces flat to avoid chain tangles and kinking.
  4. 4Do not store silver with gold — silver tarnish can transfer.

Wear & Lifestyle

  1. 1Remove rings before lifting weights, gardening, or any heavy manual work.
  2. 2Put your ring on last when getting dressed — after makeup, perfume, and hairspray.
  3. 3Remove jewellery before sleep, especially rings with high-set stones that can catch on bedding.
  4. 4If a prong feels sharp or a stone feels loose, stop wearing it and bring it in for a check.
